The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV is a plug-in electric hatchback that is available in two trim levels: LT and Premier. From the outside, the LT trim shows off automatic headlights, solar-absorbing glass, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, and all-season tires with self-seal technology. This trim level also has high-intensity-discharge headlights, as well as LED taillights and daytime running lights, complemented by a high-gloss black front grille.

With the Premier trim, additional exterior features include upgraded alloy wheels, roof-mounted side rails, chrome accents, and black side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators. Intellibeam headlights are available as a stand-alone upgrade.

The 2021 Bolt EV receives its power from an electric motor paired with a 66-kWh battery pack. The combined output of the two components comes in at 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The battery pack sits beneath the floor of the vehicle to maximize interior space. With the Premier trim, DC fast-charging capability also comes standard, while that feature is available as an option on the base trim.

Front-wheel drive is the only option on both the LT and Premier trims. This vehicle boasts an impressively long range, making it a great option for those who want to take it on longer commutes or road trips. According to the estimates released, the Bolt can drive up to 259 miles on a charge. The DC fast-charging port is a worthwhile upgrade if you opt for the LT trim level since it can get you on your way quickly. Drivers also love the nimble handling, fast acceleration, and precise steering that round out the Bolt EV's performance.

Although the 2021 Bolt EV fits into the compact hatchback segment, the cabin is roomier than you might expect. Each of the four doors opens wide to provide easy access to the interior, while both the front and rear rows offer quite a bit of headroom and legroom. Standard comfort and convenience features include manually adjustable front seats, a premium steering wheel, cloth upholstery, automatic climate control with rear-mounted air ducts, a rear cargo cover, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The LT trim also has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, a 10.2-inch touch screen, and a six-speaker sound system.

The Premier trim tacks on ambient interior lighting, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, perforated leather upholstery, and heated front and rear outboard seats. This model is available with wireless device charging, additional USB ports, and a Bose sound system.

All 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV models come with air bags throughout both rows of seating, a rearview camera, Teen Driver settings, and traction and stability control. An optional Driver Confidence package is available on the LT trim, which bundles blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors. Those features come standard on the Premier. The higher trim is offered with the Driver Confidence II package, which includes lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and forward collision mitigation.
