2021 Chevrolet Colorado
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado midsize truck features a newly restyled front end and the distinctive Chevrolet logo embossed across the tailgate. Along with the capability you need, the Colorado offers a refined ride and superb handling and maneuverability.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Trim levels for the Chevy Colorado are the Work Truck (WT), LT, the rugged Z71, and the off-road specialist ZR2. It is available with an extended cab with a long bed or a roomy crew cab with a long or short bed.
On the WT, you'll find black trim, daytime running lights, a cab-mounted cargo light, a chrome corner step rear bumper, and 17-inch steel wheels. LT models feature color-keyed door handles and power mirrors, alloy wheels, and a remote locking Easy-Lift and Lower tailgate.
The Z71 offers more rugged features along with projector-beam headlamps, fog lamps, and all-terrain tires. The ZR2 sits taller and wider for tackling any terrain and features a unique front end, skid plates, fender flares, larger off-road tires, upgraded shocks, and front and rear electronic locking differentials. It also has a spray-on bed liner.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of WT and LT trims is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. It's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
WT and LT models with four-wheel drive and Z71 and ZR2 trims get a 3.6-liter V-6 producing 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Optional for the LT and ZR2 is a 2.8-liter inline-four turbo-diesel engine that generates 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet through a six-speed auto.
Performance
For hauling your gear, depending on your truck's configuration, the Colorado offers a payload capacity of up to 1,550 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 7,000 pounds. For city and highway driving, the V-6 engine will return up to 18 and 25 mpg.
Interior
The practical WT trim features hard-wearing vinyl upholstery, a power driver's seat, and air conditioning. The multimedia system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, Bluetooth, a six-speaker sound system with satellite radio, and a 7-inch touch screen. Opting for the LT gets you cloth upholstery, cruise control, a leather-bound steering wheel, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
Inside the Z71 are faux leather-trimmed cloth upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, automatic climate control, in-vehicle apps, voice activation, wireless charging, HD radio, and an 8-inch touch screen. Stepping up to the ZR2 gives you leather seating and a power-adjustable passenger seat. You can also opt for a Bose seven-speaker audio system and a media hub with USB data ports, auxiliary input, and an SD card reader.
Safety Features
The Colorado's standard driver assistance features include electronic stability control, traction control, a back-up camera, a configurable teen driver function, tire pressure monitoring, and tire fill alert.
LT models offer an automatic dimming rearview mirror, while the Z71 and ZR2 add rear parking sensors and an HD rearview camera. Additional available safety features include forward collision alert and lane departure warning.
