Whether you use your truck for work or fun, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers the style and capability you want. With eight trim levels, five engines, and several cab and bed configurations to choose from, you can tailor your Silverado to perfectly suit your needs.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can choose your Silverado 1500 in Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, and High Country models. Depending on the trim, it's available with a regular cab and long bed, a double cab with a standard bed, or the roomy crew cab with a standard or short bed.
WT models offer daytime running lights, 17-inch steel wheels, cab-mounted cargo lamps, 12 cargo tie-downs, and a corner step rear bumper. The Custom features 20-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed bumpers, heated power mirrors, and LED taillights, while the off-road-oriented Custom Trail Boss has 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. Stepping up to the LT gets you LED headlamps, chrome bumpers and mirrors, 17-inch wheels, and an EZ Lift power lock and release tailgate.
The RST gets color-keyed bumpers, LED fog lamps and box lighting, and 18-inch wheels. The LTZ offers chrome accents and power-folding mirrors, while the rugged LT Trail Boss has unique off-road features. With the High Country, you get side steps, 20-inch wheels, a spray-on bed liner, and a power tailgate. Newly available for 2021 is a six-way multifunction tailgate.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of the WT and Custom trims is a 4.3-liter V-6 engine producing 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission. The LT and RST models feature a turbocharged 2.7-liter engine delivering 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The LTZ has a 5.3-liter V-8 that generates 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet. It's mated to an eight-speed automatic. In the three top trims, the V-8 is matched with a 10-speed auto. An available 6.2-liter V-8 or 3.0-liter turbo-diesel is an option for some models.
Performance
Trail Boss models are all-wheel drive only, while other trims come standard with rear-wheel drive and offer the option of AWD. Depending on the configuration, the Silverado 1500 offers a maximum payload of 2,250 pounds and, with the proper equipment, a maximum towing capacity of 13,400 pounds.
Interior
The practical WT features durable vinyl seating, smartphone capability, Bluetooth, a 7-inch touch screen, two USB ports, and six-speaker audio. Custom models have cloth upholstery and cruise control, while LT models add an 8-inch touch screen and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
In the LTZ are perforated leather seats, driver memory functions, heated front seats, a heated leather-bound steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control. The top-of-the-range High Country offers cooled front seats, heated rear seats, wireless charging, navigation, and a Bose seven-speaker audio system.
Safety Features
Standard on the Silverado are an electronic stability control system, a back-up camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane change alert, auto grade braking, and trailer sway control. An optional 360-degree camera system provides up to 15 views for simple trailer hitching and towing.
