2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD
When you need a heavy-duty pickup truck with superb capability, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD truck will get the job done. Four trim levels, two powerful engines, three cab options, and two box lengths let you configure your truck just the way you want it.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Chevy Silverado 3500 is available in Work Truck (WT), LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels. Choose from a regular or double cab with a long bed or a crew cab with a standard or long bed.
WT models have daytime running lights, 18-inch steel wheels, extending trailering mirrors, a trailering package, and 12 cargo tie-downs. The LT trim adds alloy wheels, power-adjustable mirrors, deep-tinted rear glass, and an EZ-Lift tailgate.
LTZ models feature LED headlights, LED fog lights, power-folding and extending auto-dimming mirrors, a bed-mounted 120-volt power outlet, a power lock and release tailgate, and LED taillights. Stepping up to the High Country gets you 20-inch wheels, side steps, a power tailgate, a power-sliding rear window, a spray-on bed liner, and LED cargo bed lighting.
Engine (Power)
Standard power is provided by a 6.6-liter V-8 engine delivering 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque via a six-speed automatic transmission. All models offer the option of a turbocharged 6.6-liter V-8 diesel engine that produces 445 horsepower and a mighty 910 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The Silverado 3500 offers the option of all-wheel drive and single (SRW) or dual rear wheels (DRW). With the gas-powered V-8 and SRW, you have a maximum payload of 4,534 pounds, or with DRW, 7,442 pounds. Pairing the turbo-diesel engine and DRW gives you a gooseneck towing capacity of up to an amazing 35,500 pounds.
Interior
The WT's hard-wearing cabin features durable vinyl seats, air conditioning, a 3.5-inch multi-information display, and a rearview camera with hitch guidance. The infotainment system has Bluetooth, voice activation, smartphone integration, a 7-inch touch screen, and six-speaker audio.
Opting for the LT gets you cloth upholstery, cruise control, a 4.2-inch driver information display, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and an 8-inch touch screen. The LTZ adds remote start, perforated leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, driver memory functions, dual-zone climate control, an instrument panel-mounted 120-volt power outlet, and HD radio.
The luxurious High Country offers ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, an 8-inch driver information display, navigation, wireless charging, and a Bose seven-speaker audio system.
Safety Features
Standard safety features on the 3500HD include electronic stability control, traction control, trailer sway control, brake assist, hill start assist, a back-up camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The LTZ adds an automatic dimming rearview mirror, while the High Country has front and rear park assist, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Depending on the trim level, optional driver assistance features include a following distance indicator, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane departure alert, trailer tire temperature and pressure sensors, and safety alert seat. An available trailer camera system with up to 15 views makes hitching and towing a trailer easier.
