2021 Chevrolet Tahoe
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe boasts a brand-new design, which includes a longer wheelbase and a standard independent rear suspension. In addition, the new Tahoe also offers an optional diesel engine and more premium features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can choose from six trim levels with the new Tahoe: the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. There are also a variety of paint options to choose from, including Cherry Red Tintcoat, Midnight Blue Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic, and Iridescent Pearl Tintcoat. The base trim boasts impressive standard features. These include rain-sensing wipers, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, LED headlights and taillights, black assist steps, and LED daytime running lights.
The LT trim adds a hands-free liftgate, while the RST trim features wheel locks and 22-inch bright machined wheels. With the Z71 trim, you'll receive off-road-focused equipment such as a front fascia with a high-approach angle, all-terrain tires, and red tow hooks. The Premier trim adds conveniences such as a driver-side auto-dimming rearview mirror, while the High Country trim boasts a unique grille and 22-inch Sterling Silver premium painted wheels.
Engine (Power)
The Tahoe features a choice of three engines, all of which are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine is a 5.3-liter V-8 with an output of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. For a more spirited performance, go for the High Country trim, which is powered by a robust 6.2-liter V-8 engine with an output of 429 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
New for this model year, is an optional 3.0-liter turbo-diesel, which generates 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is optional on all trims, except the Z71, which comes standard with a four-wheel-drive system.
Performance
The standard independent rear suspension of the new Tahoe provides an overall smooth and comfortable ride. You can also opt for an available first-in-class Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension with the Z71 and High Country trims. This system will allow you to adjust the ride height of the Tahoe according to the driving conditions. You can, for instance, raise the height for more clearance when driving off-road or lower the height for enhanced aerodynamics and efficiency.
Interior
The longer wheelbase of the new Tahoe makes for a roomier cabin with more legroom in the second and third rows. You'll also get an increased cargo area of 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row, which you can extend to a maximum of 122.9 cubic feet with all rear seats folded down. The standard 10.2-inch infotainment system offers all the latest technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, HD radio, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
The base trim comes with many convenient standard features, such as tri-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, keyless open and start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Higher trims add luxuries such as an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless charging, leather upholstery, and a head-up display. You can also opt for an available rear entertainment system with two 12.6-inch displays.
Safety Features
The new Tahoe features advanced available driver-assist features. These include lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, front and rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera.
