2022 Chevrolet Equinox

The new Equinox receives a makeover, which includes a new grille design, newly designed headlights, and updated rear and front bumpers. You can choose from a range of sophisticated exterior paint colors such as Blue Glow Metallic, Cherry Red Tintcoat, Iron Gray Metallic, and Seaglass Blue Metallic. There are also four trims to choose from: the LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

The base trim is well decked out with standard features such as 17-inch aluminum wheels, automatic on/off headlights, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, LED headlights, and a manual liftgate. With the LT trim, you receive added features such as deep-tinted rear glass and LED daytime running lights.

Apart from 19-inch Dark Android-painted aluminum wheels, blacked-out features, and a unique lower fascia, the new, sporty RS trim boasts LED taillights, a power programmable liftgate, and roof-mounted side rails. The range-topping Premier trim is equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels, fog lights, a hands-free gesture liftgate, and side mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators.

All Equinox trims benefit from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and delivers an output of 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet. Front-wheel drive is standard across all trims and all-wheel drive optional.

With its accurate and direct steering and stable handling, the Equinox provides a comfortable driving experience. In addition, the SUV's suspension succeeds in smoothing out those rough patches on the road. When properly equipped, the Equinox can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

The Equinox offers a spacious and versatile cabin. Comfortable seating for up to five people is provided and behind the rear seats you'll find a cargo area of 29.9 cubic feet. When you need more space, the rear seats can be folded down to open up a maximum cargo area of 63.9 cubic feet.

The standard infotainment system isn't only easy to use but also well-equipped with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, six speakers, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, USB ports, and Wi-Fi hot-spot capability. The base trim also offers active noise cancelation, cruise control, keyless open and start, a rear-window defogger, cloth upholstery, and single-zone manual climate control.

Various luxury items are added with the higher trims, such as a driver-adjustable seat, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel. Depending on the trim, you may also receive an auto-dimming rearview mirror, memory settings, and leather upholstery.

All Equinox trims come standard with the Chevy Safety Assist suite, which consists of advanced driver-assist features such as forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and front pedestrian braking. You also receive lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator, and Intellibeam auto high beam assist. Additional safety gear items include front and rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, and an HD surround-vision camera.
