2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD

The Silverado HD is available in various configurations, namely a crew-cab, double-cab, and regular-cab body style, and either a standard or long bed. You can choose from a wide range of attractive exterior paint options, such as Northsky Blue Metallic, Cherry Red Tintcoat, Red Hot, and Greenstone Metallic. Five trim levels are offered: the Work Truck, LT, Custom, LTZ, and High Country.

Standard exterior features include 17-inch steel painted wheels, power-adjustable side mirrors, cargo tie-downs, a CornerStep rear bumper, daytime running lamps, and halogen reflector headlights. Various upgrades are added with the higher trims, including 20-inch aluminum wheels, a spray-on bed liner, LED head- and taillights, LED fog lights, and a tailgate with EZ Lift assist.

The Silverado comes with a choice of two engines. The standard gas-powered 6.6-liter V-8 engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. For a more robust performance, go for the optional Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8 engine, which has an impressive output of 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard and an all-wheel-drive system is available on both engines.

You'll receive excellent tow ratings from the Silverado. While the Silverado 2500HD offers a maximum tow rating of 18,519 pounds, the 3500HD boasts an amazing maximum tow rating of 36,000 pounds. To make towing easier and safer, the Silverado HD provides various advanced trailer-assist features. A segment-first Advanced Trailering System, for instance, allows you to create customized trailer profiles that help with hitching and towing. The Silverado HD also offers up to 15 camera views, which come in handy when you're hitching or backing up.

The new Silverado comes with an improved cabin, which includes a redesigned dashboard on the LT trim and up. Apart from wood, chrome, and soft-touch materials, the dashboard features a 12.3-inch digital display, which takes the place of the traditional instrument bezel. In addition, the old-school column shifter is replaced by an electronic shifter, which opens up more space on the center console. The cabin of the Silverado is also spacious. Although the lower trims are equipped for utility, the higher trims add many convenience and luxury features. These include a head-up display, a premium Bose audio system, driver-seat memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. All Silverado HD models are equipped with Chevy's Infotainment 3 software, which comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

The Silverado can be equipped with advanced driver-assist features, such as forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, an HD surround-view camera, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, and lane-departure warning.
