2023 Chevrolet Suburban

The entry-level Suburban LS comes with LED headlights, LED taillights, and 18-inch wheels, while a bump up to the LT adds a hands-free liftgate. The sporty RST adds 22-inch wheels and black exterior trim, and the off-road Z71 comes with 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, tow hooks, and black and dark chrome exterior trim. Step up to the Premier for magnetically controlled shocks, chrome exterior trim, and auto-dimming side mirrors, or choose the High Country for 22-inch alloy wheels and the option for a panoramic sunroof.

Most Suburbans get power from a 5.3-liter V-8 gas engine that delivers 355 horsepower and uses a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with most trims, and all-wheel drive is available. A 6.2-liter V-8 is optional for some trims and standard for the High Country. It puts out 420 horsepower. There's also a 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder available with 227 horsepower.

The ride in the Suburban is smooth and comfortable with the adaptive dampers or the air suspension. The air suspension can lower to make getting in and out easier or raise the ride height to increase ground clearance. When equipped, this SUV can tow up to 8,300 pounds.

There's room for up to seven or eight passengers in the Suburban. It comes standard with power-adjustable front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The LT adds leather upholstery for the first two rows, driver's seat memory settings, and heated front seats, and the Premier adds a convenience power-folding third row, a power sliding center console, power-folding second and third-row seats, and ventilated front seats. Technology features start with an 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, and it works with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A larger 10.2-inch touch screen comes in the LT and above, and these also have an upgraded driver information display and either a nine or ten-speaker Bose stereo system. A rear-seat entertainment system is optional for any Suburban.

Every 2023 Suburban has a full suite of advanced driver aids. These include forward collision warning with mitigation, automatic braking, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and lane-keep assist. The Premier adds to this list with a blind-spot warning system and rear cross-traffic alert, and the High Country has a head-up display, rear pedestrian alert, and a digital rearview mirror. Traffic adaptive cruise control is optional for some trims. Both the Premier and High Country offer GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. This allows for semi-autonomous driving over certain highways across the United States.
