  1. The Cajun Table

The Cajun Table has been a Lafayette staple since it opened in 2015. It started as a food truck, while the brick-and-mortar location on Ambassador Caffery opened in 2017. You can enjoy lunch or dinner at this eatery, where menu options include dishes prepared with traditional Cajun spices. Start your meal with an order of Maw’s crawfish dip, served with toasted French bread, fried crawfish tails, and green onions, or go for one of the fried options on the starters menu. These include onion rings, fried pickles, fried crab claws, and fried mushrooms.

The loaded Cajun bacon cheeseburger is a local favorite, while the lunch specials vary each day. A few of the unique options include crawfish fettuccine, chicken and smoked sausage sauce piquant, and crawfish etouffee. The crawfish pot pie is another popular choice, featuring a homemade pie crust stuffed with the eatery’s famous crawfish etouffee.

You can also get the Alligator Bang Bang on a po’boy sandwich, or you can get a sandwich topped with fried shrimp or homemade meatloaf. Don’t forget to satisfy your sweet tooth with bananas foster bread pudding served with homemade sauce.

Prejean’s is a spot where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner, all with a Cajun twist. On the breakfast menu, a few of the unique options include Prejean’s Napoleon, prepared with crisp potato cakes and crab cakes, topped with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce, fresh shrimp, and smoked tasso, or the Breaux Bridge Benedict, which comes smothered in crawfish etouffee. You can dine in for Sunday brunch or grab lunch or dinner at this eatery. A few of the top menu options include the Blue Dog Po’boy, available with your choice of protein, the Chicken Bayou Teche, featuring a seafood-stuffed chicken breast, and the beignets.
