Bass-Guitar-Player-CloseupSpending the night watching a band perform at a live music venue is a fun way to hang out with friends and relax. You can order a mixed drink or a craft beer while listening to local and national acts. Here are some notable live music venues in Lafayette to check out with some friends.

Blue Moon Saloon and Guesthouse

Blue Moon Saloon and Guesthouse is located at 215 E Convent St. It’s a bar with beds for rent and event space. However, most people come here for the live music. You can listen to a wide range of musical genres, including some New Orleans inspired Cajun, zydeco, reggae, and country performed by up and coming artists and more established bands. Plus, there’s room for dancing to the live music and having a good time with friends.

If you’d rather take it easier and enjoy the friends you’re with, you can enjoy a delicious local craft beer. There is even some homemade jambalaya available for purchase, though you may have to pay separately with cash. The staff members are known to be friendly and courteous.

The Freetown Boom Boom Room

Located at 300 McKinley St. in Freetown Port Rico, The Freetown Boom Boom Room is a wonderfully casual bar with live music, comedy shows, and strong drinks. It has a good selection of liquor and Louisiana draft beer. It’s a little away from downtown, which only adds to its appeal.

The Grouse Room

The Grouse Room is located at 1919 Kaliste Saloom Road, in Suite 303, in Parc Lafayette. It is an upscale venue for dancing and relaxing. This venue hosts different types of musical acts, from dueling pianos to nationally recognized performers. The venue has live music nearly every night of the week, so you will always be able to enjoy live performances no matter what night you choose to go. One of the things that stand out about The Grouse Room is the delicious and unique cocktails, some inspired by pre-prohibition drinks.

The Saint Street Inn

If you’d prefer to listen to live music during the day, check out The Saint Street Inn at 407 Brook Ave. near the Arbolada Addition. The restaurant serves up farm-to-table Southern food that changes to incorporate seasonal flavors and ingredients. There is a mixture of Louisiana Cajun food and other southern favorites, such as a Cajun Cuban and steak frites. On the weekends, The Saint Street Inn has live music outside that you can enjoy while you eat brunch.

If you love to listen to live music, try to make an effort to visit all of the music venues on this list at least once. These venues are among the most popular in the Lafayette area, attracting many locals and tourists. You may just find one that you want to go to regularly to enjoy the music and the dedicated night out with friends. Many Lafayette locals have already discovered their favorites.
