8 Safety Features of the 2024 Chevy Blazer

The 2024 Chevy Blazer has earned a five star safety rating from the NHTSA, and that should not be taken lightly. Chevrolet spared no expense on making safety a top priority with this feature-packed midsize SUV.

8 Safety Features of the 2024 Chevy Blazer

1. Automatic Emergency Braking

Using cameras, the vehicle can perform an emergency stop to aid the driver’s own braking if the system detects an approaching collision. This feature works between the speed range of five to fifty MPH.

2. Following Distance Indicator

Keeping an optimal distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you is a key component to a driver’s safety. This indicator shows the following time between your vehicle and another in front of you, giving you a number to follow when trying to keep a good distance.

3. Forward Collision Alert

If there is a possible collision ahead, a warning is displayed so the driver can take action to avoid it. And if you are following a vehicle a little too closely, a tailgating alert will appear.

4. Pedestrian Front Braking

Much like the automatic emergency breaking, if the camera system detects a pedestrian, it will attempt to make an emergency stop to avoid a collision.

5. Buckle to Drive

In a hurry? Well, buckle up first. This model does not let you shift from park to any other gear until the driver’s seatbelt is buckled.

6. Lane Departure Warning

This SUV might not accuse you of falling asleep, but it will let you know that you are drifting out of your designated lane if the system determines that it is not intentional.

7.  Seven Airbags

Gone are the days of just two front airbags. This Chevrolet has two regular front airbags, one for the knees of the driver, seat airbags for the driver and front passenger, and head airbags in both the front and rear.

8. Teen Driver

If you have a teenager learning to drive, they can get their own designated key fob that provides a report card right in the vehicle as well as activating specific safety systems.

All of these features come standard across all trim levels, which is very impressive for all the technology involved. There also some features that are available only on higher trims, such as HD surround vision for that cool 360 view of your vehicle, a safety alert seat that vibrates alerts in case you are not looking at your instruments, and a blind zone alert that shows a warning light on side mirrors if another vehicle is in or approaching your own vehicle’s blind spot.
