Engine and Transmission
The 2022 Blazer comes with several powertrain options. All models except the Blazer RS come standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that produces 228 horsepower, front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive upgrade, and nine-speed automatic transmission. The 3LT and Premier trims also offer an upgrade to a naturally aspirated V-6 engine that produces 308 horsepower. The Blazer RS comes standard with the V-6 engine and all-wheel drive.
Safety Features
The Safety Assist safety suite comes standard on all trims of the Blazer this year. This provides active safety features like lane centering, departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The 3LT also comes standard with rear cross-traffic braking and blind-spot monitoring, while the RS and Premier trims can also upgrade to include adaptive cruise control with the Driver Confidence II package.
Technology
All trims of the Chevy Blazer come equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment center with Bluetooth, Apple Carplay/Android Auto and Amazon connectivity, satellite radio, Wi-Fi hotspot, four USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system. You can upgrade to gain navigation, wireless device charging, two more USB ports, and an eight-speaker premium audio system.
New Features
Several changes have been made to this year’s lineup of Blazers for even better performance and aesthetics.
Trim Changes
The old base L and 1LT lower trims have been discontinued for this year. Available trims are now the 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier.
Engine Changes
This year’s Blazers no longer come with the naturally aspirated 2.50-liter engine; it has been replaced with the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The new engine comes with a tow package that is standard with all-wheel drive and available as an upgrade with front-wheel drive.
Aesthetic Changes
The 2LT, 3LT, and RS trims now offer a beautiful two-tone exterior paint design. There are also two new exterior paint colors: The Blue Glow Metallic and the Nitro Yellow Metallic.
