First off, we have a local destination that not only makes excellent food but brings entertainment too. Every evening there’s live music while you eat, producing an atmosphere great for families and parties.

A packed lunch menu covers you no matter what you desire with salads, soups, and excellent tacos, as well as other staple dishes. Dinner is our favorite time to visit, and we’ll enjoy the Ultimate Steak Nachos followed by the popular Seafood Chimichanga while listening to the tunes.

2. Spoonbill

It’s hard not to fall in love with this place as soon as you set eyes on the sixties gas station turned restaurant. There’s a great patio when the weather’s suitable for sitting outside, and you’ll find Instagram-worthy sights everywhere you look.

The food matches the surroundings and fortunately also tastes as good as it looks. The polite and efficient waiting staff will happily bring you our favorite Crab Quesadilla appetizer, and then perhaps the Pork Tacos, and if you have some room, the incredible Churros Bites.

3. Blue Apache

This establishment is one of the most genuine places around and is operated by a family originally from Mexico City with over 45 years of restaurant experience. Authenticity and quality are the keys here to their superb range of traditional dishes that includes all your favorites.

Daily lunch specials are offered weekdays and are excellent for a lunch break visit. At dinner make sure you take a good look at the Sizzling Fajitas, where we like to go for the Supreme option with steak, chicken, and shrimp. For little ones, there’s also a great “Ninos” menu that has options suitable for every child’s taste.

4. La Hacienda

There’s a warm welcome here at a restaurant known for its fresh food, excellent service, and popularity with families in particular. There are large portions here, so the owners recommend that you bring a large appetite or be ready for take-out.

The decor is bright and colorful, and the flavors of the food match. As well as all the standard meat, poultry, and veggie options, the house specialties list is where we’re drawn, with delicious Enchiladas Verdes and Mole Ranchero catching our eyes.

5. La Fonda

Finally, we have a local institution often called our version of “Cheers” – a place where everybody knows your name. The restaurant is so welcoming that you’ll be left thinking you’re a regular or even a family member.

Since 1957 some of the best food in the area has been served to satisfied customers who are both local and visitors to the town. We often start with the excellent Beef Nachos and then move on to the Pork Tamales, which is a dish we have enjoyed more times than we can recall.
