The 2019 Lafayette Auto Dealers Association Car Show is coming back to Cajun Field in Lafayette on May 7th and runs through the 11th, and you’ve just got to be there if you’re looking for a new vehicle!
What makes LADA such a big deal? Each year, numerous local dealers that represent 25 different vehicle manufacturers bring their New model inventory to Cajun Field to be viewed and purchased by the public. This isn’t your typical car show – it’s on a whole other level – with over 2,000 new cars, trucks, and SUVs on display for purchase!
The very first LADA Car Show was held in 1987, and since then has become one of the most successful automotive shows and sales in Louisiana, and is certainly a staple for the Acadiana community. Today, there are many all-electric vehicles on the market. The Chevy Bolt brings the electric car to the masses. Its ability to drive long distances between charges and its relatively low cost make it a great option for your next vehicle. Going the Distance
The Chevy Bolt EV is definitely one of the best options available today for an everyday electric vehicle. With its ability to drive 238 miles on a full charge, you can take it just about anywhere. This impressive hatchback will get you where you need to go, and it’s great for road trips. It takes about 10 hours to fully charge at a 240-volt home or public charging station. You can also use a standard 120-volt wall outlet in an emergency, but doing so will take longer.
Electric vehicles require much less maintenance than a gas vehicle. This means you have more time to do what you like. A few things you’ll need to do to properly maintain your Chevy Bolt include rotating its tires about every 7,500 miles, replacing your cabin air filter every 22,500 miles, and regularly checking your brakes, hoses, and fluid levels. With its strong grille, athletic hood lines, the new Blazer’s lean, athletic styling will surely turn heads. Choose the RS for a sinister, all-black design, or opt for the Premier if you like bright chrome accents.
On the Road
You’ll have the pleasure of a smooth, controlled ride from the quiet cabin of your Blazer. There are two engine options available: the 2.5-liter V-6, which puts out 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, or the 3.6-liter V-6 in the Premier and RS trims, which puts out 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Both of these engine options offer intelligent stop/start technology, which seamlessly shuts off power to the engine when it’s not needed. They are both equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Chevrolet knows that you’re looking for adventure, so Traction Select comes standard on all models. This amazing technology allows you to choose the terrain you will be driving on and set the mode accordingly. You will also love the sophisticated twin-clutch AWD technology available in the RS and Premier trims. It provides optimized traction for every driving condition.

Chevrolet has helped to empower the next generation of major league talent through various youth sports initiatives, including instructional clinics, donating equipment, providing uniforms and more since 2006.
Flash forward to present day and over 1,299 dealers across 77 markets in 5 regions across the U.S. have participated in the Chevy Youth Baseball program, which has sponsored 1,810 free youth clinics, given 15,346 league enhancements, and donated 149,000 sports kits! Thanks to these incredible efforts over 12 years, an astounding 7.3 million kids have been reached through this program, and for 2019 Chevy strives to reach more than ever!

Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum
Although you may already know the general story behind Bonnie and Clyde, you can learn even more about these outlaw lovers when you visit the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum in Gibsland. The museum is housed in the original building that was once Ma Canfield’s Cafe — the last place Bonnie and Clyde stopped for a bite to eat before they were killed in a shoot-out with police. Highlights of the museum include Bonnie’s red hat, one of Clyde’s shotguns, and a replica of the bullet-ridden 1934 Ford where they met their demise.
