Kids are always looking for something to do, whether its inside, outside, or a little of both. In the Lafayette, LA, area, there are tons of kid-friendly attractions and activities. Kart Ranch
Kart Ranch Family Fun Center has a little of everything. From bumper cars to adventure golf and Go-Karts, there is fun for the whole family. There are batting cages for the kids who want to work on their swing, kiddie carts that even the little ones can drive, and an arcade if you want to let the kids have some fun while you relax. Outside, a rock wall offers four different climbs of varying difficulty, and water wars is a fun game where you get to launch water balloons at each other.
Sky Zone Trampoline Park
What better way to keep the kids busy and tire them out than by having them spend the afternoon jumping on a trampoline. Sky Zone Trampoline Park not only has trampolines, but it also has a Ninja Warrior course where the kids and test their abilities on the obstacles. There is also a free climb area where you can climb a rock wall without any harnesses. If you fall, you land in the soft foam pit. The Warped Wall also tests your abilities with platforms of different heights and a tricky curved incline.
Children’s Museum of Acadiana
Head to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana for hands-on fun and learning. This museum has a full-size ambulance with flashing lights parked right inside where the kids can explore and role-play. They can also play in architecture alley with Kapla blocks, Legos, and dominoes, or pretend to be a vet at the Happy Paws Hosptial. The Wee Acres exhibit has farm-themed activities for the younger kids, while Stuffee is a large anatomy doll that comes with internal organs that the kids use to explore and learn all about the human body.
The kids will also love Super Foods, where they can pretend to shop for and buy food or play the store clerk.
Lafayette Science Museum
The Lafayette Science Museum makes science fun for kids and adults. This museum has all kinds of hands-on exhibits covering air and spacecraft, architecture, biology, paleontology, and the speed of light. The Planetarium up on the second floor presents live programs along with playbacks where you can learn about the constellations, experience space flights, and observe the sky. The schedule includes special programs for the kids with age-appropriate information and programs for the general public.
