2020 Chevrolet Blazer at Service Chevrolet Cadillac in Lafayette, LAThe midsize SUV class is quite competitive, but the new 2020 Chevy Blazer holds its own with impressive features. It comes as a largely competitive SUV with agile handling and sporty driving characteristics. It falls on the segment’s stylish side, battling it out with Nissan Murano and the Ford Edge. Let’s look at some of the reasons drivers love the new Chevy Blazer.

1. Stylish Exterior

The new Blazer introduces a muscular inspiration of a sleek sports car into the crossover segment. The cool exterior design borrows heavily from Camaro. It features a large hexagonal grille, ultra-thin LED daytime running lights, and angular lines that add a hint of sportiness.

Though drivers have an option of up to nine colors, the gorgeous Red Hot shade blends with the design cues and highlights the SUV’s sporty undertones.

2. Impressive Performance

With up to six trims and three engines available, the performance varies greatly. The Blazer features a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 193 horsepower. There’s a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 230-hp, and an optional 3.6-liter V-6 capable of 308 horsepower.
All three engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Though the front-wheel-drive does just enough to power the vehicle around town and highway duty, the V-6 delivers additional performance that boosts your confidence when overtaking on the highway. Drivers looking for towing capabilities should opt for the AWD V-6 models, which handle up to 4500 pounds. Front-drives tow up to 1500 pounds.

3. Camaro-Inspired Interior

Inside, the Blazer features an intuitive climate-control system, soft-touch plastics, a calming color scheme, heated rear seats, and cool interior lighting. The interior space comfortably accommodates five people, with enough head- and legroom. There are two sets of LATCH connectors in the rear to mount child car seats.

However, while the rear seats offer a good amount of legroom, taller individuals might have to deal with limited headroom caused by the Blazer’s sloped roofline. Folding down the back row unlocks more storage room.

4. Infotainment System and Features

The new Blazer offers many standard features, including dual-zone climate control, a rearview camera, keyless ignition, and cruise control. The mid-level trim offers rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, a power liftgate, remote start, and heated front seats. Higher-end trims are fitted with heated steering wheels, ambient lighting, a hands-free tailgate, and a 120V power socket.

The infotainment system features an eight-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and up to six speakers. A more upgraded audio system is only available for the top-of-the-range Premier, which gets a regular USB port, USB type C port, and eight Bose speakers.

In conclusion, the new Chevy Blazer is a worthy opponent in the class. It has a user-friendly infotainment system, sporty styling, an engaging ride, and -capable performance. Want to get a closer look at the new Blazer? Visit Service Chevrolet of Lafayette and take a test drive.
