2020 Trailblazer at Service Chevrolet Cadillac in Lafayette, LAWith a design inspired by the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer and FNR-CarryAll concept, and based on the GM VSS-F platform, the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a mini Blazer that punches above its weight. Unveiled at Auto Shanghai in April of 2019, the new Trailblazer is said to replace the current Chevy Trax or possibly fall into the lineup between the Trax and Equinox. Either way, the Trailblazer will likely hit the North American market later this year.

Style

The new crossover SUV has its own character and brings a bold look to this segment of the auto industry. The 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer has sleek and bold body lines that pair perfectly with a smooth and flat roof. These features give the new crossover a lot of style and a lean look that screams strength.

A long hood that turns down slightly and a dual-port grille adorn the front end of the 2020 model year Trailblazer. Thin, angular LED daytime running lamps are paired with Chevrolet’s signature accent lighting strip to light the way for drivers at night. Red accent stripes that remind one of tow hooks are found on the lower fascia and the black A-pillar gives the vehicle a sporty look. The sides of the crossover feature sharp creases that give it an edgy look.

While many of the Trailblazer’s particulars have yet to be revealed for the American market, the 2020 model is expected to be available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive, giving drivers options to suit their driving style. The 2020 Trailblazer rides on 17-inch black wheels that feature Redline hash marks. The same red line accents are found on the mirror caps as well, adding to the overall sporty look.

TheĀ length, cargo space, and passenger room of the new crossover are expected to fall between that of the Encore/Trax and Envision/Equinox. The subcompact SUV will probably get its power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, however, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Interior

Inside the 2020 Trailblazer, we can expect to find an infotainment system with navigation and hands-free controls. Advanced connectivity with Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay compatibility are also likely to be present. While it’s still uncertain, various trim levels are expected to offer both cloth and leather-trimmed seats, as well as leather accents throughout the cabin.

Safety Features

The 2020 Trailblazer will likely come with a full suite of standard safety features to keep drivers and passengers safe on the road. Likely safety features include multiple air bags including driver, passenger, and side curtain, as well as pedestrian detection, forward collision alert, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. Optional equipment includes blind spot alert, adaptive cruise control, and high-definition camera rearview mirrors.

Although we must wait for the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer to hit the North American market to confirm many of the features it will include, we can assume that it will be one crossover that’s worth driving. Based on the information that is available at the moment, it’s safe to say that the 2020 Trailblazer will be a well sought-after SUV.
