During the warmer summer months, you’re bound to find numerous concerts, no matter what type of music you enjoy. Keep reading to find out what Lafayette-area concerts you should put on your summer bucket list.

Radio Zydeco

Performing at the Artmosphere Bistro on June 21, Radio Zydeco is a band that hails from the Lafayette area. The members of the band all come from strong music backgrounds, including Memphis soul, delta blues, and other southern Louisiana music influences. The band brings an eclectic and unorthodox sound paired with a relatable message.

VanFest 2019

Taking place on July 13 at the Freetown Boom Boom Room, VanFest 2019 is a daylong event that features several artists. Come to the concert and enjoy two stages in one day. One of the bands performing indoors is Goatwhore, which is an American death metal band that formed in New Orleans. Other indoor bands include Cultivist, Crypt, From the Gallows, Golgothan, and Devoured by the Plagues. Bands performing outside include Julian Primeaux, Camps, and Kiva. The after party outside includes Premise and Almost Digital.

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band

On August 13, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band will perform at the Heymann Performing Arts Center. Known as a singer, actor, and composer, Lyle Lovett is a Texas-based musician who has released 14 albums. The musician fuses country, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues into his music. This time around he brings his Large Band to this captivating tour.

KIDZ BOP World Tour 2019

The KIDZ BOP World Tour 2019 hits the Cajundome on August 18. The band performs contemporary popular songs and amends the lyrics so they’re kid friendly. Created more than 15 years ago, KIDZ BOP has sold more than 17 million albums. The band’s World Tour began in February 2019 in New Jersey and is scheduled to conclude in September 2019 in California. The concert has a scheduled run time of about 90 minutes, which makes it the perfect length for your child’s first concert.

Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show

Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show comes to the Cajundome on August 30. The tour, which is the first solo tour for the country singer, features special guest Brent Cobb and the Marcus King Band. Stapleton began the tour back on May 5, 2017, in support of his second and third studio albums, “From a Room: Volume 1” and “From a Room: Volume 2.” This tour is scheduled to end in Baltimore on November 2, 2019.

Lafayette is the place to be this summer if you’re searching for some excellent concerts to attend. Whether you’re in the mood for some country, some authentic Zydeco, some kid-friendly tunes, or a little rock and roll, you’ve come to the right spot.
