Chevy-Bowtie-Closeup-BlackAs one of the world’s largest car brands, Chevrolet introduced the Camaro in 1966 as a competitor for Ford’s Mustang. Now in its sixth generation, the Camaro adds some extra features for the 2020 model year. Keep reading to learn what upgrades are planned for this classic sports car.

New Trim

If you were interested in the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, you had seven trims to choose from. With the upcoming model, Chevy introduces a new trim known as the LT1. This option fits between the LT and SS trims and borrows aspects and designs from each of those two. You can opt for both the coupe and convertible form, as well as the standard six-speed manual transmission or available 10-speed automatic transmission. As for features, this trim comes with 20-inch aluminum wheels, a vented hood, and fender badges.

You can select the Technology Package with this trim, which includes an 8-inch touch screen display paired with Chevy’s infotainment system and Bose premium audio.

New Front- and Back-End Appearance

The new front appearance of the 2020 Camaro is based on the design of the Chevy Shock show vehicle that debuted at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Customers loved the new stylized design of the Shock, and Chevrolet listened when it designed the 2020 Camaro. The SS now features a repositioned bow tie emblem located in the upper grille as well as a body-color bar situated between the upper and lower grilles.

When it comes to the vehicle’s rear, the LS and LT trims now feature a rear spoiler. This feature was previously only available as part of the LS package. You can also get dark-tinted taillights.

New Colorful Interior

When you’re driving a muscle car, there’s nothing wrong with drawing a little attention. You can choose red seatbelts and kneepads, as well as alloy pedals, across all 2020 Camaro trims. The LT models offer performance seats, which were once only available on the 1LE trim, while the LT and SS trims feature a suede microfiber-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob trim. The 2LT trim has an available red and white leather interior, in addition to the 3LT and 2SS.

New Transmission

The 2020 Camaro LT models equipped with the V-6 engine will have a 10-speed automatic transmission. This supersedes the 2019 models that had an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new 10-speed is based on the optional transmission found in the SS and ZL1 models. With the LT trim, you still have access to the standard six-speed manual transmission.

In addition, you will find a 6.2-liter V-8 engine under the hood. This engine produces 455 horsepower as well as 455 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with direct gasoline injection and variable valve timing.
